HIRING POLICY


It is the policy of the City of Carlisle that when job openings become available, they are first made available to current city employees for five (5) days.  With the exception of emergency appointments, if the position remains unfilled, it is then advertised for two (2) weeks and applications are accepted for a minimum of two (2) weeks.

Job vacancies may be advertised in the Carlisle Independent and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, on social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, and will be posted on this website. 

The City will only accept applications for advertised job openings.  Applications submitted for closed positions, or those for which the application period has ended, will be destroyed.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS

Certain positions with the City require that applicants reside within the Carlisle city limits.  Applicants should be aware that, if hired to fill a job vacancy they may, as a condition of employment, be required to relocate during their probationary period.  Residency requirements will be included in the job announcements for open positions.
