HELP WITH DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE Carlisle police officers regularly see firsthand the damage and devastation brought on by drug and alcohol abuse. Not only do abusers suffer health effects, but they often commit crimes either because of impaired judgment or to support their habits. Too often, the abuser's family and friends also suffer. While the Carlisle Police Department has a zero tolerance policy regarding drug and alcohol violations, we do want to see people who abuse drugs or alcohol get the help they need to beat their addictions. The following organizations can help: Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings are held at 7:00 PM, on Wednesdays and Sundays, at Lonoke, in the old Methodist Church parsonage (orange brick house) at Park & Pine Sts., two blocks south of the police department. For more information, call (870) 552-3548. Narcotics Anonymous Meetings are held at the following locations: Lonoke Community Center, 1355 W. Front St., Tuesdays at 7:00 PM Palm Street Church of Christ, 1115 W. Palm St., Tuesdays at 7:00 PM and Thursdays at 8:00 PM |
