The City of Carlisle is committed to working for a cleaner environment. Two programs which help us keep Carlisle green are our leaf and limb pickup services. By providing these services, we eliminate the need for residents to burn these items, keeping our air cleaner and reducing the risk of fires. Carlisle residents are assessed a monthly fee of $4 on their municipal bills for these services. LEAF PICKUP SERVICE Public Works crews pick up leaves on a regular basis, with additional service provided during the fall months. The only thing we ask of residents is that they rake their leaves into piles close to the street so that we can reach them with our leaf vacuum equipment. LIMB PICKUP SERVICE Public Works picks up tree limbs, up to 6" in diameter, on a year-round basis as they have a crew available. The limbs are chipped and converted to mulch. To make them easier for our workers to handle, we ask that residents pile their limbs next to the street with the cut ends facing out. Also, unless limbs are very long, please do not cut them. The City maintains a large mulch pile behind the Lonoke County Solid Waste Transfer Station. Residents may obtain mulch, free of charge, by contacting Public Works at 552-3120. |
